Betty, you can certainly submit a cropped version if you prefer it, but feel free to keep the current one on display. You never know which one the judges will prefer! 
However, in my comment to your original photo I was actually suggesting a different shot taken at a lower angle, and framing with the dry grass as just another approach to the scene.

Betty, I really like the way you cropped this one :-) The full size was a nice scenic pic, but cropped like this it has 'pizazz'(sp?) makes you want to look deeper into the photo...
