"Deep Waters"
Submitted: Mon Jul 31 2006 8:40 am [View artist's Gallery]
Taken: 06-12-06
Artist Notes: Maramec Springs, the water is as cold as ice and the color you see is the same with camera or without.
(I couldn't get back far enough to include the tree tops but wanted to know how to crop to improve this picture.)

Judge's Ratings• Sometimes there is just no substitute for a wide-angle lens when you can't get it all in frame. I like the foreground water with its reflection of the trees and sky, so there is no simple crop that would help. Next time, you might try getting lower to the water surface and shooting upward in portrait mode (turn the camera sideways) to get more sky. [by mv on Jul 31 2006]
