Example of Macro with Canon 500D close-up lens on a Nikon 70-200VR lens (D2X camera). ISO100, 1/640 @ f8 with a subject distance of about 20 inches. Shot in full daylight, the exposure was manually set to about -1.5ev (for a darker background) while a strobe (SB800) illuminated the bee. Even at f8 the depth of field is only about 1/2".
Camera was handheld (thanks to VR) since this bee, while having rather ragged wings, was flitting about very quickly. |
